Stop paying for clicks that were never customers

ClickFortify scores every paid click on Google Ads and Meta Ads, excludes fraud IPs in Google Ads automatically in Warn or Strict mode, and filters flagged conversions before Meta receives them when the CAPI proxy is enabled.

Quick answer

Where wasted ad spend comes from

Wasted ad spend comes from two places. Account waste is budget lost to settings you control, such as search terms, match types, bids and tracking. Traffic waste is clicks you should never have paid for: bots, repeat clickers, click farms and junk placements. ClickFortify stops traffic waste by scoring every paid click before more budget goes the same way.

Two kinds of waste, two different fixes

One is fixed inside your ad account. The other keeps coming back until something checks the click itself.

Account waste: you fix this in your settings

Budget lost to how campaigns are set up. Better settings fix it, and no click fraud tool replaces that work.

  • Irrelevant search terms
  • Loose match types
  • Bids and budgets set too high
  • Ad schedules and location settings
  • Broken or double-counted conversion tracking

Traffic waste: ClickFortify stops this

Clicks with no buyer behind them. Your settings can be perfect and you still pay for them, because the click looks valid to the ad platform.

  • Bots and automation
  • Competitor and repeat clicks
  • Click farms
  • Data-center, VPN and proxy traffic
  • Junk placements
  • Suspicious conversions

Where traffic waste comes from

Six sources of clicks you pay for and never get back, and what ClickFortify does about each.

Bots and automation

You pay for visits no person made. Scripts and headless browsers that click like people are scored on device and behavior, not just IP.

Competitor and repeat clicks

One source can drain a daily budget before real buyers search. The same source clicking your ads again and again is flagged and, on Google Ads, excluded.

Click farms

Real devices paid to click pass basic checks and still never buy. They show patterns that the device and behavior signals pick up.

Data-center, VPN and proxy traffic

Servers and masked connections are rarely shoppers. Network signals mark clicks that come from hosting providers, VPNs and proxies.

Junk placements

Low-quality sites and apps send clicks that never convert. ClickFortify scores them like any other source, and on Meta the publishers you block go to your block list.

Suspicious conversions

Fake conversions cost twice, because bidding learns to buy more of the same traffic. Conversions within 2 seconds of the click, conversions from bots and a third conversion from the same visitor are flagged.

Credits after you pay, or a check before the next click

Google filters the invalid clicks it detects and credits some it finds later. That is a real baseline, but it comes after the spend.

Google’s credits (after you pay)Credits some invalid activity in a later billing cycle, as credits, not cash
ClickFortify (before the next click)Scores each click as it lands
Google’s credits (after you pay)Totals in the Invalid clicks column, no IPs or placements
ClickFortify (before the next click)Logs every click with IP, location, campaign, keyword and reason; the CSV adds placement when available
Google’s credits (after you pay)Nothing to exclude, so the same source can click again
ClickFortify (before the next click)Excludes flagged IPs and ranges in Google Ads in Warn or Strict mode
Google’s credits (after you pay)Conversions counted as you send them
ClickFortify (before the next click)Flags suspicious conversions, and on Meta drops or tags them when the CAPI proxy is enabled

From paid click to logged decision

Five steps run on every click, with nothing to review by hand.

See how it works
  1. Click lands

A visitor arrives from your ad, and ClickFortify records the GCLID or fbclid with it.

  2. Scored

ClickFortify checks 100+ device, network and behavior data points for that click.

  3. Decision

The signals combine into one risk score, judged against your sensitivity from 1 to 5.

  4. Action

Observe only logs, Warn excludes the source for future clicks, Strict acts as soon as a threat is detected.

  5. Logged

The click log keeps the IP, location, campaign, keyword and the reason it was flagged.

What ClickFortify doesn’t fix

Scoring clicks stops traffic waste. It doesn’t touch the rest of your account.

For the account side, start with why your Google Ads budget gets wasted.

  • Bids, budgets and bidding strategy
  • Keywords, negative keywords and match types
  • Landing pages that don’t convert real visitors
  • Conversion tracking that is broken or counts the same action twice
  • Zero waste isn’t realistic. Some bad clicks get through any filter, and some real visitors never buy.
  • Google’s refunds are credits on your account, not cash back.

Calculate your traffic waste

Copy a few numbers from your Google Ads or Meta reports to see your invalid click rate, clicks that never reached your site and your real cost per lead. Reports cannot show the paid clicks that looked real; your click log shows those once ClickFortify is running.

  • Numbers from your own reports

Wasted ad spend questions

How much is wasted, what Google refunds, and how to stop it.

  • It varies by account, network and industry, and there is no single reliable figure that fits everyone. Published estimates vary widely because they measure different things in different ways. Your own click log is the honest answer: ClickFortify records every paid click with the reason it was flagged. For a rough starting point, try the ad fraud calculator.

  • Partly. Google filters the invalid clicks it detects before billing and credits some it finds later. Those refunds arrive as credits on your account, not cash, and you can ask for a review of the last 60 days through Google’s Click Quality Form. Credits come after the spend, and they don’t stop the same source from clicking again.

  • It can if sensitivity is set too high, so start carefully. New websites start in Strict mode; switch to Observe first, where ClickFortify scores and logs every click but excludes nothing. Review the flagged clicks and their reasons, then move to Warn or Strict and adjust sensitivity from 1 to 5.

  • Meta has no IP exclusion setting, so the fix is different from Google Ads. ClickFortify scores every Facebook and Instagram ad click by its fbclid and flags suspicious conversions. With the CAPI proxy enabled on Standard or Premium, it drops or tags flagged conversions before Meta receives them, and the publishers you block go to Meta’s block list.

  • Work on both kinds of waste at once. Fix the account basics, such as search terms, match types and conversion tracking, and start scoring every paid click so traffic waste is caught as it happens. ClickFortify’s 7-day free trial runs on your own campaigns, and Observe mode lets you review flags before anything is excluded.
